America has launched a psychological war against Iran and its business partners, Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif said today, according to the Iranian news agency Tasnim.
«America focuses on a psychological war against Iran and its business partners,» Zarif said.
President Donald Trub withdrew the United States in May from the nuclear agreement reached in 2015 between Iran and international forces. The rest of the deal is trying to find ways to save it.
Trab’s decision to withdraw from the deal has hurt the United States, Zarif said, according to the Iranian Student News Agency (ISNA).
«After Trab announced the withdrawal from the nuclear agreement, America was unable to achieve its goals,» Zarif said.
Washington seeks to force Tehran to end its nuclear program and its support for fighter organizations in Syria and Iraq.
Zarif also said the nuclear agreement has led to a political dispute within Iran.
«There are some in the country who, instead of paving the way for exploiting the opportunities created by the nuclear agreement, opt for a political battle,» Zarif said, according to ISNA. «And this political battle has led to despair and frustration.»
Hard-line critics of the deal attacked Iranian President Hassan Rohani after the US retreat, arguing that the deal is a form of capitulation.
