Greece grants two marine plots in Albania!

«Search for a quick solution and everything that arises» the doctrine of Kotzia

With the «look» in Turkey, the Greek government agrees on the abolition of an existing agreement with Albania and opens a debate on land borders!
Discussions on border change in the Balkans have already begun!

Georgiou Michail writes

While Greece moves to the rhythms of the «Novartis scandal,» a series of events pass without giving them a particular weight, by the distinguished publicists who are all over TV viewers. Even if it is an embarrassing withdrawal of the Greek government into Albanian positions that attempted to cancel a transnational agreement between the two countries. Indeed, the leaks from the government and the foreign ministry attempt to justify Greece’s retreat from the agreement with Albania by arguing that the loss of two marine land is a strategic move that strengthens the Greek side against other agreements to be made with Israel, Egypt and Cyprus, and with this tactical (and not disorderly) tradition of maritime space in Albania, Turkey will be brought to the fore.

If it was not for fools, it would be easy for anyone to claim that the FM and government’s «wise men» are the same dangerously stupid idiots. Unless they proceed with the implementation of a project that has not been announced and its results could not be described as a conquest or victory of Greece in the geopolitical and geo-energy map, which is rapidly evolving against both Greek interests and Greek acquired. And in these cases there is no reference to «name delivery» but to the delivery of geographical spaces (sea and land).
As the Balkan Periscope reports, Top Channel, citing sources from the diplomatic mission in Athens, says the new Maritime Agreement provides for the segregation of the maritime space to be the beginning of the middle line.

In the Straits between countries, which are 1.8 miles, 0.6 miles are in Albania, 0.6 miles in Greece and 0.6 miles in international waters.
In other cases, the «middle line» is applied, calculating it as a maritime area for international navigation.
These distances (boundaries) are based on the International Maritime Convention.
As for the extension of territorial waters to 12 miles, as stated by Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, they will be made by both countries at the same time.

The agreement between the two countries, which was completed in Crete but was finally thoroughly analyzed in Korça, explains how to calculate the 12 miles, from the last inhabited island in 1913, an approximate border line will be placed between the two countries .

The Greek territorial waters at 12 miles will be applied by Othon and Mathraki and not by the last North lighthouse, as in the 2009 agreement.

The agreement will be based on international law on the sea for the use of lighthouses, according to which beacons and rocks or islands in which a building is built shall be accorded to the administration of the country which has built them with special status of these beacons and the waters surrounding it, but are not referred to as starting points of the 12-mile or mid-line, as defined in the 2009 agreement, with the Bakreta rock in the Strait of Ksamil, giving Greece three-quarters of sea space.

The Greek side says that with the new way of measuring and the benchmarks put by Bushati and Kotzia in Crete, Albania restores sovereignty to the part of the sea lost by the 2009 agreement.

Between the two countries will be redefined the Exclusive Economic Zone.
Albania will extend to the west in the Ionian 1 and Ionian 2 segments, which according to the 2009 agreement were allocated to Greece.

Sources say that Greece wants a quicker solution to the problem because it wants the implementation of the arrangement with Albania to be set as a precedent to use it as a basis in the final stage of the negotiations for the exclusive economic zone with Israel, Libya and Egypt.

This precedent can be politically used in a possible negotiation on the sea border with Turkey to establish Greek sovereignty in the Aegean.

As is well known, Greece is in control of almost all Aegean islands under the Treaty of Lausanne, which was recently challenged by Turkish President Erdogan.

There is the «fear» of Athens, who knows that the Turkish president has an influence on Albanian politics, which makes this deal more urgent, the sources of the Albanian channel point out.

This agreement also refers to a co-ordination for starting work on land borders between the two countries.

Greece and Albania have not yet defined borders since 1914, when the existing border line was imposed by the Great Powers.
Albanians in Kosovo, Skopje and Albanian prime minister spoke on border change in the Balkans

The well-known political analyst, Berat Bujolah, referring to the statement by an Austrian politician who proposed autonomy in the northern part of Kosovo, writes on his Facebook page that the three Albanian leaders – Albania, Kosovo, Skopje – only change at the border of Kosovo.

In addition, he explained that such a scenario would not only apply to changing the borders of Kosovo but also to other Balkan countries.

In particular, Austrian Vice Chancellor Heinz Christian Strase proposed the «right to self-determination» of Serbs in northern Kosovo.
Indeed, he said that northern Kosovo should have the right to self-determination.

According to him, the pressure on Serbia, a country that is the guarantor of peace and stability in the region, is wrong to recognize Kosovo as it is.
«It is the first time that a high-profile politician – Vice-President of the Austrian Chancellor – is so strongly against the Albanians in Kosovo.

There are, of course, those who consider him to belong to a regional party and extreme but he is nevertheless the second person of the Austrian government, «writes the Albanian newspaper.

The Greek government is likely to embrace the «Papadimoulis doctrine» (to share Kavala and Thessaloniki with Skopje) and also introduces it to Greece’s relations with Albania by granting two marine plots (of known energy value) in the name of good relations between the two countries …
If the present government in Greece claims to defend national interests, should a debate be opened on how they mean – are the national interests of the rulers of Athens perceived?
For the rest, Greece is in a state of deep sleep under the influence of the «Novartis medicine» …
